hi. please search forum using key words such as. "no start" or "no spark" and see what that yields you first.
thank you. Here I did a little digging for you: http://www.toyota-supra.info/forums/...-question.html ------------------ http://www.toyota-supra.info/forums/...-problems.html This second one was started by a goober but still lists some good reference sites and troubleshooting.

Thanks for that link.
Now I'm going to head out and check all of that and see what it is. Thanks, Andy |

Another simple question... is the engine cranking over or does nothing happen when you turn the key?

It turns over, we can smell the nasty fuel in it. we got it to where it almost wanted to start but now it just turns over.
There is a buzzing noise coming from the fuel pump relay, could that be a major problem right now? When ever we have the battery hooked up, constantly makes noise. |

The fuel pump relay shouldn't even have power if the ignition's off, so I fail to see how this can happen anytime the battery is connected. Is it happening anytime or just with the ignition on?
The relay is a definite possibility. You can jumper FP and B+ in the diagnostic box to power up the pump... this WILL power it full time though, so it's not a solution, just a diagnostic. This bypasses ALL of the power controls in the fuel pump's circuit.

It doesn't matter if the key is on the "on" position or if the key is out of the ignition. its on when the battery is connected.
The bad part about this is that we just got the car as is. We didn't take apart the motor to replace the head gasket. We do not know what the people did to the car before it came to us. We switched out the ignitior and it made no difference. We are thinking its the distributor pick up but we have no idea how to test the distributor. We are completely stumped on this. Thanks Andy |

Test the fuel pump relay for power with the ignition off... If they got 'creative' with hacking together some crap to 'get around' a problem instead of fixing it they could have killed any part of that circuit.
Did you try jumpering FP? (If not, DO SO) I think you need to decide if you're missing fuel or spark BEFORE you start paying for replacement parts.
