Shimming the wastegate is fun! And a cheap way to make power!

Thread necromancy I know but just a quick q, everyone is talking in terms of washers but has anyone ever measured the actual thickness in case someone comes across a batch of thicker washers & toasts their baby?

Also, on the subject of toasting & the question of boost spike/creep. Wouldn't 'yotas fuel cut save the motor & give a hint that something's wrong provided you took action as soon as it happened?

And I'm considering going for maybe 4/5mm worth of shimming, as from what I gather (although it's not so clear hence why I asked) that would take it from 6 to about 10/11psi?

is there another way of shimming it cause mine is shimmed and i can not figure out where its shimmed at. i bought it from a old white dude. he said he shimmed 2 washer but there is no way of showing that he shimmed it. that is the only way i know how to shimmed it too. but there is no washer right there, is there another way???
