Tems dust cover
how bad would it be if I didn't have a Tems dust cover. it looks like toyota went through some trouble to make sure the inside stayed sealed from the elements.
i have a bar I wouldnt mind putting on. I know it dosent do jack but it looks perty. I cant make it fit with the cover on and I really am not wanting to take it off. pros vs cons on removing the TEMS dust cover please.

I know a couple people who've run without them. I wouldn't worry too much about it, just plan on taking them off periodically to clean any accumulating dirt out to prevent it from building up. Put a plastic bag over them if you ever end up hosing out the engine bay.
I gotta say though... I think they look pretty ugly sitting there by themselves. I suppose that other than just keeping dirt and water out they may also serve to prevent the actuator from heat soaking.

i took them off and looked underneath then looked inside the cover and said.. toyota didn't want anything entering here.. and the quickly put them back on mumbling some prayer.
so just basic road dirt getting down there won't really hurt it? periodically wipe away some grime if any builds up.. i think i better leave it on till i get my exhaust leak fixed.

Well, I wouldn't be ditching them just so I could mount a strut bar...myself.
I'm not saying I recommend it... but yeah, I think you'll be fine without it as long as you clean it out regularly. I'd pull the actuators off and clean it all out with some compressed air.
