Do I Need New Injectors?

I am currently in the process of redoing the top end on my 7mge. I am also having port work done on it and would like to know if I need aftermarket injectors or will the stock ones do?

You'll have one hell of a time over working the stock injectors on a GE... This wouldn't be a bad time to send them in for cleaning and flow testing though. I would send in a couple extras so you can put together a matched set.

This is who I used: Cruzin Performance or you could look up RC Engineering. Both are reputable.

i agree, your injectors are going to do more than enough for your motor. if you suspct that one or more of them is doing something wrong, put a long screw driver, or something metal against it and put your ear on the other end. you should hear a very steady tic tic tic. if they are all the same your injectors are fine. if you are worried about them being gunked up, just fill up with chevron a couple of times and anything that was there should clear up.

I agree that Techron is a great cleaner and the tank additive is excellent. Do keep in mind that the lower grades or their fuel do not have it or have less than their premium... and that is at a lower concentration as it is intended as a continuous maintenance sort of thing. For a heavy clean run the full additive, don't expect a couple gas tanks with 1/10th as much cleanser to be anywhere near as effective.

However, Techron won't unclog the screen filters in the injectors, remove rust or provide the kind of cleaning that ultrasound will with very old and filthy injectors.

Additionally, listening isn't going to tell you if one is leaking or flowing too little... just that if pintles are loud or not.
