im interested in purchasing a blitz exhaust and a downpipe with turbo elbow and eliminating all my cats, i live in british columbia and we have to have cats and pass emissions bla bla bla, so i was wondering if it would be trouble to get the exhast and downpipe but keep the stock one to put on for emissions tests every 2 years, is there any welding involed?

i had to bolt it back on one time to pass an exhaust inspection .
i got a ticket in another nearby town for " possible illegal aftermarket exhaust and possible noise pollution" . this was a yr or so ago and my town never has bothered me ever since i was 16 i have this thing against cops and this ticket didn't help

you can just run an off road test pipe which is the same length as the main cat and bolts into that location. Get a new downpipe and don't worry about the pre-cat (it's more than likely clogged, and a replacement assembly is $600  ), get a dowpipe, cat back, and then swap out test pipe for cat when you need to pass inspection...hell you could buy a new cat and have a brand new cat everytime you went because it would sit on a shelf
Personally, I'd like to get a great high flow cat so I'm running clean and mean... |
