Warning Lights?!
I'll go ahead and admit that I am completely dumb when it comes to cars. I can check the fluids, put oil in, pump gas, and drive the car...but that's about all it amounts to. But, I'm hoping that my question can be somewhat answered...**crosses fingers**
I have an 86 Toyota Supra, automatic...and that's about all I know. It only has a little under 130,000 miles on it. I bought it three 1/2..four years ago. About two years ago, it died on me. I just got it fixed. It's running great. But some of the warning lights on the dashboard stay on. Specifically- the brake light, the low coolant light, the battery light, sometimes the engine light...and another light that I honestly don't know what it's supposed to mean. It shows a little car and has...lights beams? coming out the back of it. I know I sound like a complete moron. I get that. But, I was hoping maybe someone could atleast tell me if this is something that could be easy to fix or hard to fix. Thanks in advance if someone can answer! |
Low Coolant Light= Check coolant level in radiator and reservoir (sensor is in the reservoir)
Brake Light= Check Brake Fluid level, ensure parking brake is not set Check Engine Light= Check for codes as stated in the MKIII FAQ Battery Light= Check your connections on your battery terminal, may need to get alternator tested Brake Lamp Failure Light (Car with light beams coming out the back)= Make sure that none of the 5 brake lights are burned out, you may need to fix the grounds on them as well as this is a common issue |
