Intercooler
Does anyone know a good intercooler that is compatable with 1990 supra turbo, cuz the one i have has input and output on opposite sides of intercooler. i think i need one that has input and output on same side of intercooler. anyone know a good aftermarket one?

There are plenty of side inlet IC's out there like this one: Siliconeintakes' side inlet/outlet. You'll need to use a couple angled couplers, but they work fine. Otherwise, for a direct fit, you can look for a "Spearco" replica IC... I think Horsepowerfreaks.com carries them.... but anything but a generic universal is EXPENSIVE.

I would search around and ask on acouple different forums the precise question you need answered..
I have a ebay universal IC. what piping route did you use. did you have to CUT anywhere? Ive seen pics of aftermarket ic's were it would normally connect to the 3000 pipe connect to the front engine facing side of the intake manifold. whats up with that? howd you make that work? whats the upsided.. I would like to know these answers also. post if you find any results.. good luck |

if the 180 degree bend is the only way.. whats the downfall to it? not enough room? low clearance?
if it works go for it. seems like thats the only way. |

It's a VERY common setup, don't worry about it too much, but get piped with rolled beads for the 180 at least.

I read a couple things about mandrel bending your own piping. its allot of trial and error. and if you don't own your own machine. the cost of renting it and the trial and error of the job.. I would just shell out the 100 bucks and buy a universal kit. now for custom exhaust pipes its cheaper to make your own, if you have the experience for it.. either way your in for a fun weekend =)
