do you have coolant in the system? is your thermostat faulty? is your rad cap in working order? check those out first before we jump to worst case scenario, heater core problems.

no coolant no heat!
non opening thermostat.. no heat, does your car thermostat gauge raise toward overheating?
if your rad cap is faulty it will not open and allow coolant to pass. ergo no heat also. and again does your car gauge raise?
