Newbie help
I just bought my car and i was told it had a BHG (7MGE). I took it in to the shop and they said the engine was toast. So today i bought a used jdm motor and im gonna have it put in. my question is, can you re torque the head on a used motor without changing they head gasket.
Thanks in advance. Last edited by lilrich75; 05-05-2010 at 04:54 AM. |

You can always retourqe anything but it may be for mo reason if there is already and issue with the Gasket. Good luck on the swap....did you go turbo?

I just spoke with a Toyota tech today and he said
if I didn't just change the gasket to just leave it alone. And that I can create more of a issue messing with a old gasket. it's n/a for now but I'm gonna rebuild my old engine an possible add a single aftermarket turbo kit. thanks for the response. I can't wait to drive my car!

Good luck on the project. you should try and get a turbo motor instead. if there is still time to change your order
