Typical idle for 7mgte

i wanted to know if my engine idles too low, it idles at about 500-600 when warm. Also, when i pushed the car hard to the point where turbo kicks in, the engine sometimes dies out when i put it in neutral or let off the gas. Can this be due to the low idle?

not enough fuel pressure lean!!

bryanf89 05-10-2010 12:43 AM

clogged or dirty fuel system?

Check for vacuum leaks

bryanf89 05-10-2010 01:42 AM

i just finished changing most of my vacuum lines with silicone, but is that a typical idle range?

supraflymkiii 05-10-2010 03:45 AM

yes that is normal idle. it says what your idle should be under your hood on that sticker that says 7m-gte

bryanf89 05-10-2010 11:54 AM

So what could cause my engine to die out after a hard push?

supraflymkiii 05-10-2010 02:21 PM

do you have an aftermarket blow off valve thats vented to the atmosphere?

bryanf89 05-10-2010 05:00 PM

Yes, an ssqv.

supraflymkiii 05-11-2010 02:24 AM

I would recommend getting the recirculating kit for it.

bryanf89 05-11-2010 02:47 AM

The recirculating kit?

Yeah, it should pipe the air back into the intake after the AFM, before the turbo. Makes it similar to the factory set up, which is what your computer expects.

bryanf89 05-12-2010 09:36 PM

i do have it similar to the factory way, i put all lines back in their original place.

supraflymkiii 05-13-2010 03:07 PM

Well I hope your vacuum lines are the same as stock, but most ssqvs don't come with a recirculating kit you have to buy it seperate. so unless you bought it seperate you are probably venting to the atmosphere.
