6 speed 7m
Has any one done this and if they haven't is it possible idk this came out of no where
|
I haven't heard of a M engine with a 6 speed, from what I can find out the V160 6 speed manual does not have a removable bellhousing, so that would not be a suitable transmission.
On a side note, while looking at Toyota tranny's I discovered that Toyota made an 8 speed automatic transmission, the AA80-E. I can't even fathom so many gears, two of which are overdrive gears |
dam 8 gears well it was worth a try i live close to the boarder and iv heard of ppl fixin their bell housing by welding i know that a lil on the cheep side but mabe its possible to fabricate a way to make it fit
|
Well, I suppose with some good fabrication skills it could be possible. I personally don't think the extra gear would be worth the headaches...
Although it would be cool to drive a 6 spd 7M |
true and i finally have my supra running reliably (hopefully I didn't jinx it)
|
There are people that have put the getrag 6 speeds on there 7ms I think you can get a bellhousing adapter then you just have to pound out your tranny tunnel a little and i don't think the shifter mount lines up with the stock hole. Check out Supramania.com or supraforums.com they probably have more info on it.
