Stripped Reclining lock on Passenger Seat
Did a search and found nothing on this. The passenger seat in my supra has a stripped position lock. The reclining function does not stay locked as it should. I figure someone maybe got laid in it and broke it or something. If you press down on the recliner lever hard it locks if not a slight lean back and the seat starts clicking back into a reclined position.
Has anyone any knowledge of the seat mechs and if this is a part that can be replaced? Seats cost a lot I would rather fix the one I have. Help if you can....Thanks ps after I removed the seat I found a human tooth under it roots and all. How strange is that? 86.5 Supra 3.0 engine 5speed |
Ummm.... there is no adjustment lever... the lever is to move the seat back forward for access to the rear. The angle of the back is controlled by the knob. So, is something actually broken?

Stripped seat
No I don't think anything is broken but I called the dealer and they have an exploded view of the paqrts. If you hold the handle down it does not slip but if not your reclining to the next position. It won't hold any weight. I am looking on line. I guess I had better pull it and take a closer look. Any ideas anyone? I have seen this before as I would think other have just wondering if anyone had fixed it before. You know if feels like the teeth have stripped like on a motorcycle sprocket thats worn out you know?
