You should just save for the gte or better yet the 2jz. Instead of spendin money on an old engine, start fresh with an imported engine and build up from there, its worth it.

The 7mGte he is referring to is probably only gonna cost us labor. Futhermore, IMO the only way to get a 2jz is with a 6 speed attached to it and those still cost about 6k, so it will definitely be both easier and cheaper to go with that 7m.

besides me and btwilson86 are both some thrifty bitches

It may just be me, but I really don't think that the 2JZ has any right to be in a MKIII. For the most part, I've viewed the MKIII as a kind of "classic" car, and in that sense I'm looking to keep an OEM drive train.

Now, a 1JZ is completely acceptable, but I would rather build this Supra with a powerplant that I'm familiar with (which is 7M's) since I'm not on that big of a budget and I'm DYING to drive a Supra again lol.

But I do appreciate your input, and maybe one day when I have a couple more supra's I'll tackle the 2JZ swap

my supra went on life support today...i was driving just fine then all of sudden something backfired, it felt like my car was be held back, i couldnt go pass 20mph and i had black smoke from the muffler...it also smelled like burnt rubber...any ideas on why all of a sudden this would happen while it was driving just fine?

Are fuel injectors a possibility?
