how do you remove the rotors off a 87' supra?

i need help removing the rotors off because there is this star looking thing in middle of the rotor that looks like it's holding it in. how do i get that off? any other useful advice on rotor replacement and brake pad replacement would be very much appreciated.:bouncy:please help.:eek3:
