Need help please. 7mgte
Hey there all, i'm new to this forum great forum by the way.
Well here is my situation. I have just finished my rebuild on a 7mge. I put 7mgte pistons in chrome rings, new big end and main bearings, 7mgte injectors, also i'm runng around 9 psi boost, Now the problems are. it blows alot of soot under boost and at idle some times, uses fuel like it's going out of style. Any ideas on what to do like 7mgte ecu or ??????? Thanks heaps. |

More info needed, what mass are you using, any mods to the fuel system ie regulator. factory turbo?? and it sounds like your using the non-turbo ecu??

Most of the GTE electronics are NOT at all compatible with the GE's nor are they interchangeable. You can't just plug in a GTE ECU and go.
Start with adding a fuel controller and a wideband O2 sensor and gauge so you can see what's really going on with the fueling and stop guessing... you're just going to kill that engine the way you're going at it. I do recommend switching over to the GTE electronics though, a fair amount of parts involved, but it's tuned quite a bit differently.
