I have heard of that being done... As long as your crank is OK that should work, but if you have wear on the crank would not you have to make sure you had correct tolerances on the crank bearings?

yes but if the noise hasnt been going on very long it will be fine and yes you could do this just like i said before make sure you torque the rods with a good torque wrench and make sure to lube the rod bolts and bearings when installing if you plan on doing the main bearings they are difficult in car but they are honestly more than likely perfectly fine main bearings rarely fail
