Lock the car up with the key and unlock again using the key on the passenger side or the trunk. The sensor on the back of the cylinder goes bad with age and may not register the disarm signal.

since were on the topic of alarms. I went out to go to work and hopped into my supra the other day and it wouldnt turn on.. dead battery like.
Knew it was the alarm. locked then unlocked the door and it started right up.. second day I went to go to work again and this time locking and unlocking didn't work. i d/c the battery for a moment then unlocked and it started up. Man I hope my alarm isnt going bad. has not done it since. (4 days later)

yea they get funky from time to time for no reason. just odd i had it happen 2 days in a row.
I should try basic troubleshooting methods if it happens again to see what the source of the problem might be. http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Librar...aspx?S=BE&P=87

All USDM had them... I don't think all years of Canadian issue or other markets did.

im following you wstanek! haha.
i actually just finished my solution to this problem this morning.. i cut the negative from the starter going to the alarm thingy majigger and basically, wired it to the strut mount(idk, did it quick and couldnt think of any other places) and than spliced a switch in there and bam! you got yourself a cool starter kill switch! |
