Default Finally! (kinda)

Well I finally have money to spend on my 89 non turbo. It has a cracked block and multiple mechanics have told me i need to just get a new engine . So the quest begins to find one. Im having a lot of trouble finding a jdm engine that includes the ecu/wiring harness. I do need a jdm ecu if im running a jdm engine right? If not i could use the one already in it.

anyway my total budget for now is 1500$ the less i spend on the engine the more goodies i can get. Anyone care to point me in the right direction? ( i dont have to pay for labor)

there are a few 7mge's ive been looking at like linked below) on ebay but again not mention of ecu/wiring harness.

If you're sticking with the same engine (like 7MGTE for 7MGTE) and swap all of the components over from your US engine onto a JDM engine, you can run your US ecu. The engine mechanicals are all the same, JDM engines just have different smog controls, which is why if you didn't swap it all over you would need the ecu.

Keep in mind that there are some differences between engines before 1989 and engines after 89. Easiest way to tell what year the one you get is to compare the oil pan from yours and the JDM one.
