Connecting Rod Bearings
 

I need to rebuild my rod bearings cuz i got a knock and was wondering if there is anything that is after market thats better than stock its a slight knock now but will eventually gt worse. anyways what do you guys think i should do i'm 16 but this would be an easy job for meh i'm lets say mechanically inclined. =D

its just depends how bad ur bearings are man i went through the same thing luckily i didn't have to get oversize bearings and on my second supra the knocking was an oil pump so if u check your bearings and their decent it might b that

Going with "stock" size bearings from most aftermarket manufacturers means the bearings are as thick as they were from the factory, but they don't account for material lost from the crank's surface... the tolerances will be a fair bit looser. You should measure your crank prior to ordering. Replacing with bearings from Toyota and going through the methods laid out in the TSRM you can get MUCH tighter tolerances often without having the crank reground. If you have a significant knock, plan on having to get the crank polished at a minimum (if you're lucky).

If you're willing to do a regrind then get it all ground for the same size and start scouring the earth for a set of the original Clevite 77 bearings (identifiable by the crosshatch patterning on the bearing surface).... good luck. ;)
