supra dying!
Hi! i have a 1987 supra turbo. I am trying to figure out what could be wrong with the car. the car idels fine, but will not rev over 2700-2800 RPM's. once it its that rpm, it feels like the car is on the rev limiter.
i am after replacing the CPS, fuel pressure regulaton, spark plugs, fuel filter, and i done a fuel pressure test and it came out fine! can anyone tell me what to look for?? it seems to me like its a spark issue! could it be a break in a wire somewhere or a bad coil??? it started acting like this right after i got the car back from getting a transmission and clutch installed! the mechanic told me the car was low on gas so he couldnt take it for a run but that wasnt the case!!! thanks for your help in advance!! josh |
Start with checking for diagnostic error codes and then checking the mechanical and ignition timing. The details on all three are located in the MKIII FAQ section. :D

thanks for the reply, i went to read the codes but my engine light bulb must be gone. i will try to get at it the weekend and go from there!
thanks josh |
The check engine light should ALWAYS light up when the key is in the "ON" position but the engine not running... it's a diagnostic of it's own. ;)
