Rear Speaker Replacement
5 Attachment(s)
OK I thought I would post some info since I am doing this now.
I read you can fit 4.5 speakers in the back so I went and bought 5 1/4" Pioneers just cause I could only shop locally and didn't feel like waiting. I couldn't find any 4.5s in town so I bought these. To do your rear speakers you have to remove the spare tire shelf cover, pretty easy. You want to remove the metal base assembly that this shelf is bolted onto. Again real easy and straight forward. You have to remove the Jack and rear cargo area trays, the rear and side plastic interior panels the big ones on each side the the rear cover that goes over the tail lights and rear license plate. Screws are hidden by those round covers you see. These round quarter sized covers just pop off. These are a bit of a pain in the ass if you don't want to scar them. Using your primary hand press one side down hard with your thumb and then use your forefinger finger nail to snag the other edge and then pull them off. Helps to have strong fingernails. Remove all screws and there are two screws on the front face of the big interior panels that you need to get before getting those huge interior panels off. The speaker is encased in its own power unit that comes off the car in three spots with 10mm bolts. Once off it is pretty easy to swap out your speaker. Assemble in reverse order.
