Default Diagnostic Help

So I need some help! I just bought a MKIII non turbo. Same day I drove home and on the way home the gas would stick at 4000 RPM. So first thing I did was jump on here and look for tips.

First thing I did was run a diagnostic and got the following codes:

24, 32 and 51.

I looked them up and first step was to change the air flow sensor. following that I checked and cleaned the ISC.

I then reset the ECU and ran the diagnostic again. Now I only get the 51 error.

BUT the motor continues to Idl at 3000 RPM.

Any one have a tip?

have you checked the fuses for everything?

just start with the cheapest thing and go up the list from there.

Check to see if your TPS is adjusted properly. This only takes a couple of minutes with some basic tools, the steps to do it are here.

All right going to check fuses asap.

I noticed just a couple of minutes ago that there is a lot of play in the throttle rod. It moves in a sideways motion of +/- 1cm. Which means that the throttle linkage is not totally sealed. There is a rubber seal that seems to be worn out.

Any other tips are much need!

Thanks people!

I had a injector seal go bad one time and it caused a high idle once, spray some brake parts cleaner near the injectors (best stuff to find leaks BTW) and see for idle change, ya never know.
