Heater Delete
My cars heater nor a/c work so I am taking everything out. This is a personal preference guys, hehe. Can I just take everything that has to do with these components and plug the line ect.??
Can this be done? If so, Will it effect anything? When deleting the heater, Do I just bypass the hose that goes into the firewall back in the head? Another reason for this is I want a cleaner engine bay and because it will not be my daily. Thanks in advance |
Well since the heater core will take you hours to remove and there is little under the hood to do with the heat I don't know why you would get rid of it.
|
Well seeing that it doesnt work and I am only talking about the engine bay, I saw some connection and vac hoses and the core hoses it will look a little cleaner as I saw how it would look already.
But thanks and like I had stated it is my personal preference to do this and I just wanted to know if it was going to effect anything and if I was to just bypass the in and out hoses going into the wall. Thanks anyways bro. |
As long as you plug the vacuum line and route the heater hoses into each other (bypassing the core and control valve) you should not have any negative effects from deleting the heater.
Actually, getting rid of those ugly heater hoses and heater control valve would make the firewall look ALOT better |
Yea it does look a lot better, I took them out already.
Just the answer I was looking for thanks. I will be bypassing those hoses. |

Well if you are going that route I would remove the interior and install two racing seats and install a roll cage. Might as well go all the way.
|
Thats exactly what Im going to do minus the roll cage. I will be taking the a/c control (thingy) out and placing a few gauges in there. The ash tray is also coming out. The rest of the interior is staying.
The roll cage ummm I dont think so but the seats definitely, later. Hey bro but the only reason I took the heater and a/c out was bc they didnt work and for the cleaner look not because I am going to make it a complete race car. Of course I wish it was an 11 sec car I can drive on the street on weekends as my toy. 11 sec is probably never going to happen. for now I am planning on breaking in the motor with the stock turbo setup. |
ah you did install the gte.. nice. you should get the clear cover for the front of the engine. timing belt clear cover.. its would look nice.
|
yea I finally got it in. I think I am going for the clear cover when I get the adj time gears.
Until then I'm going to use the 7mge cover...why...ummm just because I want "certain" people to think its just a turbocharged 7mge. I know that if some guys know their stuff it wont matter but many people will think its a 7mge with a 7mgte turbo kit on it. How, well because the power steering res will be in a diff spot from the 7mgte, the "car" is an 86.5, I am keeping the stock na gauges in dash (first thing a lot of people look for is the stock boost guage) and last but not least- I have only seen one or two mk3 supras in a 50-60 mile radius from where I live which makes me assume that not a lot of people around here will know its really a 7mgte. Sorry for the long reply just wanted to save you from asking why I would do such a thing :) But tell me what you think, remember its just my personal preference you guys and the 7mge cover is temporarily.. |
