sounds like your starter is getting hot..
does it turn on if the engine is cold with no problems? if so, run it to normal operating temp. then turn it off and take a spray bottle of water and cool off your starter. once cooled see if it will turn on. if so get yourself a starter heat shield or wrap it and problem solved. do supra's have cylinder head temp sensor.. ? Never heard mention to them or seen it in any of the tsrm..
