If it does not want to turn over (crank) check the ignition start switch.
run a wire from the starter solonoid thin wire, blue in color. turn on the ignition switch. touch the wire from the starter to the pos terminal of the batt. if engine cranks and starts, you have a bad ign switch. |

I was thinking he meant it took a long time of cranking to start not that it would not crank. The starter signal wire is not very good so if it wont crank you may want to look into the starter rewire. You use a ford starter relay to supply power to the starter. Otherwise if it cranks for extended periods but wont start check into the cold start switch.
