Exclamation Dump Pipes 1G-GTE

Hey ppls hows things,

Id like to say thanks to every 1 who helped on my boost leak thread that is all sorted out now... the dyno was @ 144rkw and when i fixed the 4 boost leaks i felt the benefits from the beginning!

The car is now making a healthy 150+ rear kw and my next plan is to free up the exhaust gases at the dump pipes on the lil 1-G mill.

The Stock Dump pipes are sort of Y shaped to accomodate the twin turbo setup and i can only see restrictions in this stock setup.

My question is there any where in Japan or Here is Oz who distributes after market Dump pipes for my 1-GGTE motor?? I have skills to make my own but ill try to investigate the bolt on items first. Im expecting at least 25kw from better dump pipes which i believe is resonable.

Cheers

Frank

hmmmmm i don't think you'll find any... you may have to make your own

god damn, what you making 150rwkw with? what boost... what mods?

another major restriction i see in the stock twins setup is the intake piping... what about separating the turbos and turning one around.. and altering the intake piping

just an idea

problem with trying to turn the turbo's would be where they bolt to the common manifold. below is a pic of the setup on my dads 1jz, different to the 1g setup, i know, but could give you ideas on what to do with yours.

Default Thanks for the ideas!

I may need to make a new turbo manifold so i can get more room. Looks like there isnt even enough room on the supra to even have 2 separate 2" pipes ;-X.. who knows. Yes, positioning the turbos higher in the engine will give me room. Ill have to research it...

The car dynoed at 144rwkw but that reading was with 4 boost leaks - 1 on my HKS BoV (that i fixed by dissconecting a connectyor pipe in the BOV)... 2 on my new FMIC piping (wasnt a bad job for a first time FMIC done all on my own) and 1 on the inlet. Boost was at 12psi.

Now i fixed all that the mill runs 15psi no dramas, doesnt hit fuel cut and is very drivable for an easy ride, and feels A LOT quiker and smoother.

Mods are all bolt on.

1989 MKIII Supra GT Ltd with 1-G GTE TT
Stock ECU
Stock Internals
Stock reconditioned Turbos (jeez that took me for eva to get em out)

HKS BOV
HKS Raid Pod
HKS Cat bak, larger 3" front pipe
Manual Controller set @ 15psi
New Custom bigger FMIC with Cermaic Polished pipes with minimal welds or joins (im a welder)
Custom made stiffer springs 40mm lowered - coilovers coming
19" gold Zanetti wheels.
Momo wheel
Guagues
Stock Burgandy Velour Trim with Stock white paint - Spoiler removal on its way.
J-Spec 2din CD (with FM modulator for Aus FM)
JVC speakers

To come : Haltach ECU, removed AFM, Dump pipes and a tune.

Ill let you know if i end up making custom dumps i can do it but i want to take the easy way out and buy them... lol we will see....

Cheers ;-)

Default fuel cut

hi to all, i have a 1988 supra with the 1ggte engine, recently i installed a manual boost controller. i have also install a bov, however i am puzzled by the fact that once the car passes stock boost levels it gives me a fuel cut, if i keep flooring it, it would continue to cut for about 3 times before the car really goes and hits the 14 psi, can anyone tell me whats causing this cut please. thanks
