Now this thread kinda hits on a subject I've been pondering during my enforced downtime, if I were to plumb in an extra BOV (Currently fitted is a Bailey twin piston valve, was thinking one more of the same) is the effectively doubled BOV venting capacity going to do anything other than produce a shorter, sharper "PSHH" when coming off the throttle?

(Bearing in mind I have an auto so am not worried about reducing spoolup/lag times post gearshift, just after venting quicker primarily to scare peds. more, but also on the theory that quicker venting of excess boost on closing the throttle might be better for the turbo bearings...)

you're not going to see a major benefit unless you're running a massive amount of boost.

That's kinda how I figured it would be on the benefits to the turbo side of things, and it is only running about 10psi but it does seem to take a couple of seconds for the boost to bleed off when the single BOV opens (maybe I'm exaggerating things in my mind, not driven the damn thing for months & it's sending me !) and really the main thing I'm after is to change the blowoff sound from a PSHHHHH to more like a PSH!!.

Maybe I'll just plumb in the original recirc. valve (but venting to atm.) alongside the Bailey BOV & see what sort of effect that has before spending money I don't have yet on something I already have one of...

Your ECU looks for that air between shifts it will almost certainly bog down or backfire when u lift off the throttle when i had mine to the atm. just for troubleshooting it ran like a dogs a$$. definatly wouldnt reccommend that!! unless you run some kind of AFC to change the parameters during shift point...even then it takes alot to get right with out aftermarket EMS or MAFT PRO.. or in other words.. $$$$$$$$$$

Already running single BOV and it's fine, thanks though. Mine's auto but doubt that makes a difference...

Few people experience no issue... some just run rich but most run rich enough to at least backfire once in a while. Running both BPV and a BOV is not unheard of on vehicles with air flow meters, it cuts the negative effects in half and improves tip in throttle response over running with just a BOV... somewhat.

if i were to change to a bov instead of a BPV i would probably run one of each in sequential sequence. altho of course i have an safc so i can modify my decal air..
