Need help! Overheating
 

Need help. Today i stoped at the store nd when i shut my car off i heard a boiling sound from under the hood. I poped the hood and the coolant in the overflow was boiling. Also from the engine on the intake side i heard boiling as well. I went in the store for about an hour came out and drove home. About 5-10 mins down the road i notice the gauge was almost pinned hot. Since i got this car i've had coolant issues. 1. Blew the coolant hose going to the throttle body. 2. T-stat housing leaking 3. Blew a freeze out plug on the exhaust side of the engine. Also replace rad cap. I'm hoping i don't have a bhg. Any suggestions..

purchase a rad pressure tester and see were your leaking from

check:
for milky oil under your oil fill cap
for oil in your antifreeze
for white smoke in your exhaust

there are many things that can indicate a bhg

is your car stock??
what year and turbo or no??

also if you overheat
DO NOT USE COLD WATER TO FILL YOUR RAD.
you could risk cracking the block and or head...

No coolant in engine or oil in coolant. Cap looks good. No smoke from exhaust. I noticed I see some dried coolant on the intake side of the engine. Can't see where its coming from thought. The intake is in the way. It by cyl 1 or 2. Think I'm leaking coolant again and it went low causing me to overheat. Anbody got any ideas. Maybe tomorrow I'll take the intake off and try to see what's going on.

rad pressure tester.. go rent one from autozone or buy one.. its like 60 bucks.. they pressurize your system. *do not go above 13psi* and you can actually watch to see where its leaking from.

i thought id just get him to check the obvious first.

if you get down to work, you can, from the cheapest thing to the most expensive, and find your problems quickly.

Left front corner of block, sounds like a head gasket. I don't remember if a freeze plug is in that neighborhood, which could be the issue.

No, front left by cyls 1 and 2 is most likely one of the hoses in the small coolant circuit which runs from the rear up to the TB, out of the TB to the ISCV, from the ISCV back into the block via a port on the underside of the intake between cyls 1 and 2. If there is no sign of coolant on tp of the lower plenum then inspect the hose running from the ISCV to the return port and then failing that replace the lower plenum's gasket.

damn this car!!! LOL. 2 freeze out plugs with pin holes. any ideas y i'm having so many coolant issues. duing removal of intake fond egr pipe not even conected... pipe damaged... also radiator leaking..:roflwtf:
