auto to manual swap.
so i finished my auto to manual swap about a week ago on a 1986.5 N/A
put in a 1987 w58 and older mk2 clutch and flywheel. but i think my slave cylinder may be done for. it wont shift into gear when the car is on. i looked under there and got a friend to pump the clutch it doesnt look like its moving enough... i went ahead and purchased a brand new slave, and i have yet to go pick it up and install it. just wanted a second opinion on the matter. im hoping that its not my master. what do you all think clutch master or slave?? (extra info on parts used: 1987: w58 w58 hard line w58 master and slave both sat for a year... clutch pedal from 87 and my pedal hits the carpet! and brake pedal from 87) please guys i need a second opinion!!! thanks in advance...

Have you bled the system a second time?Is the pedal adjusted properly? Slave and master are easy to replace, but I'd still hope that it's just air in the line or one of the cylinders.

i replaced master and slave today and bled a couple liters through the lines, and only gained a little better shifting, i have come to the conclusion that the clutch pressure plates are that bad.
infact im positive my old slave and master were perfectly fine. but yes i put a really bad clutch in because i cant afford anything right now.
