Here ya go buddy..
http://www.toyota-supra.info/forums/...html#post79432 Hey I was wondering why no one answered your question... My first thought was "he should have done the research on his own.." Then I realized.. Read the "Please use descriptive titles" thing on the MKIII Supra page.. It says use descriptive titles.. Yours must have been so broad that it didn't catch anyone's interest. Like opening a grab back you paid $1 for and finding rocks.. THAT'S NOT WHAT I WAS EXPECTING! I thought it would contain candy! Anyhow, hope this helps.. Remember "sell us with the title." We are more likley to click on a link that is "simple, yet descriptive." |
Motors that come with forced induction from the factory have a lower compression ratio. 7mge's have a 9.1:1 compression, whereas the 7mgte's compression was 8.4:1. You would have to buy lower compression pistons, injectors, exhaust manifold, intercooler setup, your turbo, and a non n/a ecu. It's programmed for an n/a motor, which is more aggressive to make up for the lack of power. Unless you have AAA i wouldn't suggest running a turbo'ed n/a without taking the neccessary (and costly) steps. A full 7mgte swap would be much quicker, easier, and probably cheaper in the long run. If you're only doing it to be unique though, go for it. I'm sure someone can give you a ride back when your motor comes through your roof. lol

88 7mge, turbo swap
hey guys sorry about the title thing, im new to forums and supra's, and thanks for the info that helped with my decision to not turbo it, ill definatly look more into doing the 7mgte swap, and does anyone no of a good sight to get exterior parts for cheap, ive been looking online, and cant find any for a cheap price, this could just be that supra parts are expensive, lol, i need both fenders, and the drivers side t top, the owner before me dropped one of them and denting it up pretty good, thanks

Are you trolling? Supra's didn't come with T-tops.
|
does he mean the targa top?
|
He must mean Targa.. Dunno how you could drop one of? Anyways, Andy Auto Sport has some good prices on body pieces.. If your looking for an even better deal. Search CraigsList and look under parts. Contact people on there selling supra parts. This is where I got my replacment fender which was in near PERFECT condition for $40!! The nice guy gave me a ton of other nice little parts too!! I even got a 2 1/2 in muffler for $40! SOUNDED GREAT!
ANDY'S AUTO SPORT CRAIG'S LIST Err~ Ebay too.. Try to buy from guys with good rep. Hope this helps.. |
