cooling issues
hey guys whats up.
i got an 87 turbo and it drives fine and alls alright. i recently bought it, drove it down like 90 to 100 miles. and it started to overheat. however, it doesnt over for short periods of time. thermostats good b/c top rad hose heats up. rad fan spins, so its good. no leaks. any ideas? thanks. |
A wheel with a flat tire will often still roll.... doesn't mean it's good. Actually TEST some parts... it's not only important that the thermostat open but WHEN is a very big factor.
Things to test or look for: disappearing coolant cross contamination between oil and coolant ignition timing a blockage in the cooling system or radiator |

with the car running check for any signs cracked hoses.. specially the ones in the back.. Flush your rad. when re filling be sure to burp it to get the air out of the system.. did you hear any waterfall like sounds during acceleration? oh OIL check for OIL! if you run the car a quart or more low you will start to overheat cause your essentially melting your engine! when you finished your 100 mile trip did you check your oil level? |
I must ask, did you check your coolant level prior to your trip?
