Default 87 non turbo wont start, need some advice...please.

Ok, this is an 87 n/a 5 speed car, stopped at the gas station to get gas and came out car wont start, cranks but wont start. also couldnt hear the fuel pump whine when jumped at the diagnostis connector under the hood, car has 180K mile on stock pump. replaced pump, sock and filter and pump now runs but still wont start, checked for spark and none, checked coil per manual and ohm reading was way higher so i replaced the coil, still wont start, coil gets 12V when key is on as does the igniter, checked the AFM per manual and all within specs, EFI fuse is good, checked grounds and all is good. Im thinking it may be a bad ignitor but want t know a way i can test it and make sure before i spend 450 bucks on a new one. Ive been reading on here the last few days and this is how ive gotten this far and would really appreciate alittle more help from ones more experienced with these cars than myself.

Thanks in advance.

PS... When cranking the engine the tach isnt showing anything, which im thinking is bad, and it should be showin some RPM even if it doesnt start. Also i checked the pick up coil in the dist and it checks out good as well.

Ok, well after checking everything and replacig what checked bad, i ran out of options and replaced the ignitor/control module and the car still wont start, and has no spark, its getting fuel. Im at a loss with this thing, everything ive checked per the TSRM is good or been replaced, i took the oil fil cap off and the cam is turning like it should so im pretty sure its not a timing belt issue. Any other ideas or help you wish to give would be really appreciated.

clutch start switch?

shrugs..

car needs 3 things to start.. spark, fuel , compression.

you pulled a plug and had a buddy crank the engine to see if it sparked? or something along those lines of troubleshooting?
you checked the wires
ignition and your diz.

as for fuel you said you changed out your pump and are getting good readings across the board.

what about compression. if your getting crank it might not be electrical.
hows your fuel pressure?

did you say you replaced the starter? or checked it?. run it down to your local auto parts store and have them test it. or shit just buy a new solenoid. there about 17 bucks. see what that does for you.

in the mean time re read No start EFI troubleshooting

good luck.

Sounds like the ignition isn't getting a signal to fire. If your getting fuel, then it's spark related. ECU not sending a signal to the module telling it to fire? Kind of a shot in the dark. But this is where I'd check. Check + voltage in at the module.
