Just bought an 89 Supra have some questions.
Hey guys, I just bought an 89 Supra N/A with an A/T. The car is in decent shape. I noticed there is a nice crack in the dash above the instrument cluster. I was looking around and didn't see any dashboards available for the car. I am sure this is going to be harder to find as its an older car. But I was wondering if you guys might be able to point me in the right direction as to where I can find some of the interior parts I may be looking for?

Welcome to the forum
Interior parts (in good shape) can be fairly difficult to find. In my experience, the best places and the best prices I've found for those kind of parts are at salvage yards or eBay. Finding a dash in good shape is especially hard because they usually are damaged in removal from the donor vehicle. I would also suggest you make a post in the "Parts Wanted" forum detailing the part(s) you're looking for

alright sounds good.
also the car needs brakes I am planning on just doing rotors, and pads. any suggestion on specific rotors and pads for this car? I am also going to do be doing a tune up on the car, plan on changing all the fluids, checking the belts and hoses, changing spark plugs, plug wires, air filter, and fuel filter. Are there any specific brands or parts that are recommended when I am doing this? Also anything I missed that I should check or replace would be great to know as well. I am new to these cars so sorry for all the questions. I appreciate the help. |

Toyota red coolant. MSD and NGK both make decent plug wires unless you want to make your own... then you can make some monstrous ones.
Just stick with the stock NGK Platinums for the spark plugs, anything else is little more than novelty... iridium lasts longer but is much less conductive. NEVER cheap out on brakes, and might as well flush the brake fluid system and inspect the calipers and guides. Check out the belts and while the coolant is drained inspect the timing belt.

Ok thanks for the reply. I wasn't going to cheap out on brakes. I just haven't been able to find much on performance brakes for the MKIII I can get standard brembo blank rotors. But was looking to go either drilled or slotted and drilled but don't want to buy those cheap rotors you see flying around on ebay. As far as pads go I was going to look at EBC pads they seem to be really good.

Or, if you want a system with MASSIVE balls, check out ARZ's posts in the authorized vendor's section or here at their website: http://www.arizonaperformance.com/parts.html EBC Green Stuff are the next pad I plan on trying. Porterfields R4-S aren't bad on the MKIII. Upgrading to stainless steel brake lines wouldn't hurt.
