Default Limits of the oem rods and oem pisons.....

in the 7mgte??

I have seen a mkIII with forged 8.5-1 pistons and stock rods run 9's in the 1/4 at over 140mph. What are the stock rods good for?? Are they forged like the 2jz rods?

I am looking at building a 7mgte for drag racing and my goal is north of 600whp. Can the stock rods take it or should I replace them with forged?

Also, I see the forged pistons everywhere for the 7mgte but not rods?

A link to some aftermarket rods would be appreciated.

Just links, I’m not qualified to recommend. Drift Motion, Sip-Racing and one of many on Ebay

I suggest the Eagle H beam rods for the 7M.
Reasonable cost? perhaps, for forged rods.
As robust as the stock rods are, I would go with forged rods for the (I assume WHP) you are looking for.
