if it does help the problem will return again really quickly. if its that big a leak, or any leak at all you're always best off to fix it properly the first time.

Be careful, I fixed the leak in my power steering pump that when producing a proper pressure blew the rack in pinon steering unit that drained the pump blowing it too.
You think a Toyota dealer would know better!

Yeah the pump itself is okay, half a bottle has slowed the leak substantially... Will keep an eye on it. Of course, when I bought the car last week there wasn't a leak, now there is....nice
Guess it's better than an engine or tranny leak though... |

I learned in A&P school that stuff does not really work. You need to get your rack fixed ASAP. There are seals leaking in it and if one blows you will be in for an expensive bill. Rebuilt racks are not that expensive and a good shop can install it.

Yeah uh that pretty much sucks, LOL. I honestly think I may just re-list the car for sale and attempt to break even. What kind of cost might you figure I am looking at to fix it. I am not very mechanical. The leak is coming from that thick rubber area on the rack. It was like drip, wait 30 seconds, drip, wait, drip....

Well check the connections first, it could always be a loose hose.
