Hey. Kinda new. I had my 1989 Supra for about 7 months now and up until the past week it has run perfectly fine. But like I said for the past week os so,my Supra has been idling around 2500-2800 RPM. I look up some common causes to this and I found all kinds of post and sites saying it should be the mass air flow sensor or something along those lines. I jsut wanted to know if anyone has any similar problems or if someone might know how to go about in starting to fix it. I'm no mechanic but I can usually find my way around a car. I just don't want to start tinkering with it and end up making it worse than it is.

I would check the IAC valve and see if it is stuck like mine was, see Idle surging, also check the intake boots for cracks, hope this helps.

Check for error codes, test TPS (the idle switch, IDL ), check for vacuum leaks and test the IAC and AFM. I would do it in that order.
