About seven months ago I replaced the engine in my 1989 Toyota Supra Turbo, because the old engine had a blown head gasket. But now when I try to drive it on the street the car will not go over 30mph. The tach revs up but the car dosent speed up. Even changing the gears dose'nt help. It also smokes and idles rough or stalls out when the throttle is released. I dont have a clue as to what the problem could be. Do you have any suggestions?

at idle does it idle really rough and poke out heaps of black smoke?
when you are attempting to get faster than 30mph are you boosting? if you are try accelerating very gently thru the gears... try on flat road not hill if it does any of the above you have a boost leak if not let us know and we'll go from there

even if he did have a boost leak he would still be able to go faster than 30mph..sounds like the rings are gone
