Default Transmission help!

I recently got a 1989 Supra Turbo. When I bought it, the gear shift was kind of gummy and it was hard to put it in gear. Today as I was pulling out from a stop light the car suddenly disengaged from 1st gear and now I can only put it into 2nd and reverse. I didn't hear any popping or breaking and it feels like there is something very wrong with the shifter itself.

Do I need to completely rebuild my transmission?
How expensive is this going to be?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

im going to assume this is a 5spd car? you only have 2nd a rev??? will it go into 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th etc when the car is not running? as for rebuild try to find a used one first

but i find it odd that you lost that many gears at once, unless its an automatic, in which case your shift solenoid has crapped out, or the cluches for 1st have fried

Yeah, it is a 5 speed. It will not go in to gear at all whether it's running or not.
It feels like there is something blocking the shifter from going in to 1st gear.

Check the fluid level in the clutch master cylinder. Check for leaks from the master cylinder and the slave and also check if the carpet feels wet or oily.
