this may be dumb but....
has anyone ever swaped the ge intake onto the gte? it seems like air would flow more evenly into the engine. the acis will be bypassed, but wondering if id get any hp gains, or is this just a waste of time?

Typo? "Swapped the ge intake on to the ge?"
Did you intend to ask 7MGTE to 7MGE? I have never tried it, just thought I would ask. |

Off the top of my head, I would guess the NA intake system would be more restrictive than a forced induction intake.
Having said that, I have no experience with the MGE engine. |

No, the GE intake does indeed flow better, especially at low velocities. The ACIS system modulated the harmonics of the incoming airflow for a more even torque curve across the RPM range.
Now most (probably including Toyota) don't feel it is worth the swap as the GTE reaches load levels beyond the effective load levels of the ACIS system (that's what the system is called). The modulated portion of the system aside, yes, it would flow more evenly under most circumstances. Although there are some things I would rework.

its kindof like the tuned port injection offed on some gm engines back in the day. being a twin entry intake due to the big Y over the valve cover, it seems like air would reach all cyls more evenly than the center dump of the standard intake (seems like 3 and 4 would get more air then 1 and 6 while under boost, but could be wrong) ill have to play with the idea a bit more, but what were you thinking or reworking?? i was planning on disabling the ACIS modulator anyways, so it would be a straight thru intake like whats on the car already
