Tranny....

i was just wondering..... i have a 86.5 NA Supra, and i would like to buy the 7mgte turbo engin, my question is are the trannys for the 7mge and 7mgte the same, can i use the 5 speed tranny that is in my car or is it not compatible, thanks everyone.

they will both bolt up but there are differences in the gear ratios and the r154(turbo trans) is a bad s.o.b. i recomend it highly

i did the moter swap in my 88 sup and i reused my non turbo 5 speed trans with the new GTE motor. It works great just make sure that you get a real heavy duty clutch and you shouldnt have any problems
