MOVED: throttle rod
i have a 87 toy supra non turbo. the throttle rod has been adjusted . the book says that it should not be adjusted!! so how do i reset it back to factory setting ??? help!!!!!!!

This doesn't belong in the FAQ. Thread moved.
If you're talking about the linkage that runs from the pulley assembly to the throttle body, adjust it for about 2-3mm of play; then adjust the throttle cable as detailed in the TSRM.

dashpot rod
thanks for your quick reply. it goes from the throttle body linkage (dashpot) to the cruzecontroll cable and throttle cable mounted on the valve cover-mounted bellcrank assembly. thanks again. i think its called dashpot act. it opens and closes the dashpot diaphragm.

Yeah, we're talking about the same rod. I don't recall ever reading a spec for it, 2 to 3mm is average.
