Brake caliper slide

so i decided to take a look at my front brakes today out of suspicion that one of my calipers was sticking... sure enough the front passenger side brake caliper slide is rusted to the caliper... rusted so strongly that when i rotate the caliper the slide starts to unscrew itself... any ideas? i've already tried beating on it lol

Beating on it is only likely to make it worse... soak it with penetrating oil... a LOT. Use the straw the oil comes with to fill it up under the boot or cut the boot off, you need to be sure to saturate the hell out of it. Heating the caliper near the glide is another possibility but I'd save that as a last resort before just cutting the whole thing off.

EDIT: After soaking the whole thing a few times and giving it a good amount of time to do it's job you can try moving the caliper on the slide toward you with a c clamp if it doesn't move the other way. Make sure its centered.
