Default sbc mk3 t-5 fitment

i currently have a 90' mk3 with a chevy small block and 700r4 trans, and yes i know most say its degrading but its actually a lot of fun. ive also had mk3's with 1uz and 2jz. question is if anyone can help, the car currently has a 700r4 auto mated and runs fine. i want to go to a chevy t-5 manual trans. are the measurements right? will the shift lever fit the center console somewhat close? does anyone know? ive yet to find this specific question on forums or per google. any help would be great. thanks!

You need to hit up a GM of Chevy site and get information for both transmissions.... There aren't too many owners running either setup and you'll get your answers MUCH quicker that way. There are two members on here with SBCs in their MKIIIs but I don't know if either of them is running a domestic tranny.
