So, I was changing out my combination switch and had to get past a piles of screws. After finally getting it done. I noticed there was this loom of wires next to the combination switch main plug. I looked for what it might be plugged into and couldn't figure it out.. Anyone wanna tell me what this one is please..

I think I got it figured out..
I bet it's for the Super Monitor..

Super Monitor which tells MPG, miles left on tank, gallons of gas consumed, clock, calendar, stopwatch, timer, and Service Interval Reminder - this is rare, only the 86.5-88 models had it.

i dont know, my 87 just has a clock there. no super monitor=( i dunno why they'd have an extra harness on a car that has no super monitor

Again, I still think it was an "Option". We may be thinking to much like 2011.. Remeber this was late 80s. They could have just made 1 harness for the darn thing instead of 6million options to take all our money.. Like we do in 2011.. Lol..

Anyways, If you would order it that way they simply connect it up and BAM! Again, I think if this car was built now. They would have had 2 different harness. This way you can't just buy the 1 part. you need the $500 harness and $500 for display.. lol

I think the super monitor should have not been an option they should have put it in all the supra

I would agree with that.. They should have also given it a Tire Pressure Monitor System! I wonder if you can get that added anyways.. Hmmm... :D

I use my Super Monitor (Should be called "Supra Monitor") all the time. The "CONSUME" (Gallons burned), "RANGE" (Miles till empty) & "ECONOMY" (Average MPG) are extremely accurate! I have even used the "ELAPSED" (Stop watch) & "TIMER" (Alarm clock). The "ENG OIL" (Miles to change) resets to 10,000 which is a bit much! And apparently they weren't thinking too long term because the "CALENDAR" (Date) only goes to "06"!!!
