Young, New to Supras, Need Help!

Ok guys I just bought a 1987 toyota supra turbo. This is only my second car and its my first project. Im looking for help from anyone thats willing. Id like to know more about the car and any pro's or con's i may have with it. Also as of right now the car isnt running. It seems like the cars getting no spark i still have yet to check the plugs and the coil pack but the engine is still holding compression so im hoping its nothing serious. So leave any info/ideas you may have or tips/advice for me. Thanks alot!

Pros: It's a freaking Supra. Enough said. My favorite thing to do was to go to the parts department of a Toyota dealership and park so it was visible looking out from the window. I didn't think parts departments had VIP customers but if you get out of a Supra, you are one. The old timers know what Toyota had in this car it doesn't get worse with time.

My '90 MkIII had problems with the seats cracking when they got dried out. The leather isn't that thick so if they aren't beyond repair I would recommend keeping the leather supple with mink oil or the like.

I also had problems with water getting into one of the fog light cages and blowing the light but that may have just been my car.

If you have the fund's I would replace the head gasket first and foremost...Install a TRD thermostat so it run's cooler, dual electric fan's. Also remove the EGR valve it gets clogged up and backs heat up in the block at the number 6 cylinder my old supra blew the head gasket because of this.

the seals around the rear lights is a common problem.
there is a thread about that somewhere in the archives.
if you have rust in your spare tire well, then you probably have cruddy seals around your tail lights and or hatch.

(above statement was a Broad generalization)

Thats cool. I sent a message to him offering help but never got a reply back. But it would be nice to get some mk3 people together in the central pa area. My friend also has a mk3 so if you are interested let me know.
