Fusible Link
Ok I need some help... The fusible link in the under hood fuse box was all cracked, but not burned. I picked up a new one at the Toyota dealer, but I am having trouble getting the old one out. Is there a release tab or anything special that needs to be done to get the old one out? I've tried pulling on the old one pretty hard and it just doesn't budge, and I'm afraid something will break. HELP!

Yes you have to unbolt the whole fuse box there is two tabs that release that spot then the wire is bolted to the Connetors mine doesn't have a wire it's a fuse

Yeah, later model MKIII's they replaced the link wire with a link fuse. IIRC, in the future you can just put one of the fuse-type in there. Just be sure to get the one for the proper amps.
