Problem after rebuild
I recently rebuilt my motor due to a BHG and thought that I should go ahead and do the whole motor. After getting everything in place I hook up the battery and won't start. The engine is just rotating very slowly. So I put the battery on a charger overnight and today when I put the battery back in, it rotates for about 1/2 a sec and then nothing. Before this happened I tested all my lights and signals. I went and got a new battery(it was kinda old anyways so i thought might as well; right cca and all that) and put it in and still nothing. Not even the door ajar light is on.
Any help is appreciated. |

Check the 100 Amp Alt. fusible link... The old style looks like a regular piece of wire but it's not.

Guessing its bad. Although the wire looks good my test light didn't show it to be good. Is it dealer only and it looks like you gotta undo the fuse box to get it out of the way right?

You can install a sealed fusible link like the others by it and those are available from most auto shops. You want one with the contacts extending straight out of the housing, not the ones bent 90?. Yes, you have to open up the fuse box.
