newbie
Hey everyone I was recently the owner of a 04 gti before it was totaled :\. Anyways im looking at a 1990 turbo supra. Cars body is in good condition except back wing paint looks burnt nd driver seat needs work. Now the car needs a battery he wants 2 keep his nd it needs an alternator belt.. He started the car nd it sounds good nd runs good with no smoke. Is it worth the $2000 he is asking for ?

Something was rebuilt at some point, The stock headgasket on that engine does not last 250k miles

I personally think that is a high price for the amount of miles. Yes it probably has had the HG done atleast once but it doesn't mean the engine is not original and never been rebuilt. They can last that long with proper maintance. Its still is an old car that will most certainly need work.

When a car reaches that age and that milage it is only worth what someone will pay for it since the book value is not there anymore. But you, like everyone will put money into it. But then again if you just drive it as transportation and baby it and do the bare min in repairs then it might not cost that much. But then again it is a supra and who drives it for just for an A to B car.

very true you have a point.. But I figured the body nd interior is clean nd engine appears it I'll dump money into new internals nd such working nd building my way from bottom of engine till top nd dat will take care of problems hopefully ..along with rigorous routine maintenance hopefully I'll be fine
