wheels locked up...
I have a 88 turbo that has been sitting for close to 3 years(due to liscense issues... not driving/traffic) sad to say. Well i have been working on getting it up and running again. When i parked it, it ran beautiful... i have removed the gas tank and filter cleaned and replaced those with new fuel and a low dose of engine cleaner. I have flushed and replace fluids and oils in the engine, and it started up beautifully with a lil gas peddle encouragement. and then i ran into a problem. I had the back end off the ground so the tires would spin free (so i could put it in gear without risking another encounter with the man). went to turn the wheels by hand and they barely moved a inch... sprayed the the entire back end down with cleaner, lube, and greased em up. still no luck... so i put it in gear to see if the engine would get it loose... no go... got some ideas but i am very interested in what u guys have to say.

Sounds like binding brake pads or shoes. The Supra has disc/pads on all 4 wheels for normal braking and rear shoes as well for the parking brake (emergency brake). I would recommend checking the calipers and shoes to see if they are not binding. May be a good idea to check the fronts as well if you intend to go on the road. Link

yea i am actually working on the rear driver tomorrow. Hopefully that will solve the problem when i get both sides done.

A word of warring, always back off the brake shoes when removing the rear discs/drum. The shoes are held on with two pins and springs, one straight and one bent pin. If you pull the disc/drum off with the shoes locked up, or the inner drum is worn leaving a ridge preventing the disc/drum from coming off, you could stretch the bent pin (making it longer) that would then catch on the rear hub when re assembling.

surprisingly enough the brakes came right off. the only thing that was at all stuck were the bolts holding them on. cleaned it all up and left the brakes off(zip tied em as to keep weight of the line) and tried to turn it by hand with no luck(was in neutral). so i threw a wheel on to see if a lil extra leverage would help. Yet my problem still exists... the wheels wont turn.. looks like i'm getting in and getting dirty but at the moment still running ideas and possibilities through my head and others and am still interested in your ideas so keep em coming thank you.

When you say " the brakes came right off", are you also referring to the disc has been removed ?

discs are still on brakes are off.

Don’t forget you still have a set of brake shoes inside the rear brake disc/drum which could be locked up..

The shoes also have a bad tendency to dig into the drum over time creating a lip you have to get the shoes over to slide the drum off. Loosen the shoes as much as possible if this happens... and it's still going to be hell.
