Default turboing a 7mge n/a

so i bought an 87 supra about 2 months ago. it has the 7mgte. couple weeks ago, the head gasket blew, (big surprise, right?) and the head might have cracked and other stuff is wrong. i was going to buy a whole new 7mgte for $1300 or i could get a 7mge n/a for about $600. so my question is, could i and how hard would it be to buy a 7mge n/a motor and then turbo it using the the turbo and everything off of my blown 7mgte?

The intake cams are different and the GTE has oil squirters to cool the pistons. The GE would also need to be drilled and tapped for the oil drain and supply. Any used engine I would recommend be fully rebuilt as you've no idea what it's been though.

Personally, I'd pull the current one apart and measure for warpage and get the head vacuum and dye inspected first. If you're looking at having an engine rebuilt anyway you might as well try to save the cost of another core.
